UX Foundations: Thinking, Mapping, and Insights
Build strong UX foundations by learning how to analyze research, map experiences, and define real user problems.
UX Foundations: Thinking, Mapping, and Insights is a hands on introduction to how UX designers actually think. Instead of jumping straight into screens and visuals, this course focuses on understanding users first and learning how to make sense of what they say, do, and struggle with every day.
You’ll learn practical UX methods that help turn messy research into clear insights. We’ll work through affinity mapping, user journey mapping, writing strong problem statements, and creating How Might We questions. These are the tools designers use to move from raw observations to confident design decisions.
Each lesson follows a simple, repeatable structure. First, I’ll explain the concept and why it matters. Then we’ll walk through a real example together in FigJam. Finally, you’ll try it yourself with guided exercises based on realistic scenarios and practical examples.
This course is designed for beginners, career switchers, and anyone curious about UX who wants to build a strong foundation. You don’t need design experience or fancy tools, just curiosity and a willingness to think from the user’s perspective.
By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident breaking down user problems, mapping experiences, and identifying meaningful opportunities before design even begins. You’ll also understand the thinking behind every step of the UX process.
